In this second volume of Breakthrough: From Innovation to Impact, The Owls Foundation offers a new series of case studies and interviews, including how Paul Polman reshaped Unilever, FW de Klerk's involvement in the Global Leadership Foundation and Jan Peter Balkenende put innovation at the heart of his programme as Prime Minister of The Netherlands. We also examine the idea of the circular economy, reveal how a family firm can survive and prosper in the era of multinational giants, and show how innovative projects have transformed healthcare in the United States and The Netherlands. Innovation is the lifeblood of modern society. We offer a wide range of examples of how innovation has shaped our world, from technology to science to politics. In all these case studies we apply The Owls' unique formulae to analyse the root causes of successful innovation and explain how they can work for anyone.

With the transfer of German units to the western front in the spring of 1918, the position of the Central Powers on the Macedonian front worsened. Materiel became scarce and morale among the Bulgarian forces deteriorated. The Entente Command perceived in Macedonia an excellent opportunity to apply additional pressure to the Germans, who were already retreating on the western front. In September, Entente forces undertook an offensive directed primarily at Bulgarian defenses at Dobro Pole. Balkan Breakthrough tells the story of that battle and its consequences. Dobro Pole was the catalyst for the collapse of the Central Powers and the Entente victory in southeastern Europe—a defeat that helped persuade the German military leadership that the war was lost. While decisive in ending World War I in the region, the battle did not resolve the underlying national issues there.

Bible Understanding Made Easy is a series of books used to inspire and teach the Word of God to sincere souls trying to draw closer to God. This volume is dedicated to building understanding of the life of Jesus Christ as taught by the book of Matthew. The world has been intrigued by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ for nearly 2,000 years to this date. This is for good reason. He is a wonderful Lord and Savior. He is also the Master teacher. All mankind must know Him in order to be saved. Knowledge of His will for our lives brings peace and joy to ones soul. This work is dedicated to showing the world the peace and joy of Jesus Christ by a more in-depth study of who He is and what He offers to mankind. The method of teaching used in this book was purposely kept as simple as possible so that beginning students of the Bible can be inspired and build a rich foundation of understanding the Bible that will last a lifetime! This volume is more in-depth than the first installment of this series entitled Bible Understanding Made Easy, Volume 1: The Old Testament. This is because more time is devoted to studying verse-by-verse and small groups of verses. Lastly, as an added bonus, there are many life application style mini-lessons that Christians of today can use to help build faith, encourage, and inspire sincere folks to maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. More people are in psychotherapy than ever before. Yet most of them have no idea of the vast differences between the hundreds of various schools of therapy. Therapy Breakthrough is the first book to clearly explain the theories and practices of the two big camps: Psychodynamic or PD therapy and Cognitive-Behavioral or CB therapy. PD therapists believe that emotional problems are caused by hidden forces in our unconscious minds, forces that cannot be observed directly and that resist being uncovered. CB therapists, by contrast, maintain that the roots of people’s emotional and behavioral disturbances can be identified by direct questions, and these problems can then be tackled by straightforward techniques. Therapy Breakthrough is written from the standpoint of CB therapy. Using psychological research, philosophy, and common sense, it argues that PD therapy is founded on mistaken theories of the mind, and explains how to apply CB methods directly to your own problems.
