In Lord Hugh Davenport's opinion, women of the ton perpetually hide behind a mask of deception. That's hard for Ellie Albright, the daughter of an earl, to swallow-especially since she's disguised herself as a stable hand to get back the prized stallion her father sold to Hugh to pay a debt. If Hugh learns her true identity she'll lose the horse and her family will go bankrupt. Somehow, though, losing Hugh's affection is beginning to seem even worse. Already only a step away from being snagged in her own web of lies, Ellie's deceit threatens to spin out of control when Hugh's mother invites Ellie and her sisters to a house party. Now Ellie has to scramble to keep Hugh from knowing she's the stable girl he wants to marry, while simultaneously trying to win his trust as herself. Can she keep her costumes straight long enough to save her family? And even if she does, will it be worth losing his love? Sensuality Level: Sensual

Bringing together the beloved characters from her enchanting romance A Merry Chase, Victoria Malvey spins a charming Regency tale of a woman's pursuit of the most elusive quarry of all -- true love.... Harriet Nash longs for marital bliss, and the dashing Steven Morris, Earl of Heath, seems the ideal candidate in every way. Following her theory that catching the perfect mate is like a fox hunt, Harriet sets out to snare a husband. But Steven proves a difficult catch, evading all her artful traps with ease. Undaunted, Harriet devises a new plan: to convince Steven that she'll help him catch a wife if he helps her find a suitable husband. With empty family coffers demanding that he marry a wealthy heiress, Steven must resist his growing desire for Harriet. When she approaches him with her plan, he eagerly agrees, hoping that time spent with Harriet will cure him of his fascination -- never suspecting that their secret scheming would soon turn into a very public passion....

This volume offers an evaluation of the Schengen Information System and border control co-operation from a transparency and proportionality perspective. It also incorporates a legal descriptive analysis of the co-operation in order to accommodate the changes and developments that occurred during the writing period. The transparency and proportionality perspectives are developed from human rights and data protection criteria. Transparency is understood as knowledge and accessibility to legal information as well as openness and accountability. On the other hand, proportionality is a requirement for guidance, balance and justification as well as a need to avoid excessiveness and arbitrariness in border control work. The final findings reveal that the Schengen co-operation suffers from a deficiency of transparency and proportionality. Consequently, measures are proposed to augment the deficiency. Even as this study was reaching its conclusion, fundamental legislative changes, closely similar to some of the arguments and recommendations projected in this study, took place. The efficacy of these changes is yet to be discerned.
